当涂县博物馆发展脉络大事记研究报告

摘要

当涂县博物馆是安徽省马鞍山市当涂县重要的县级综合博物馆,其发展历程是中国县级公共文化场馆从规划建设到成熟运营的典型缩影。该馆始建于 2014 年,2018 年 10 月 1 日正式对外免费开放,2019 年 10 月完成独立事业单位法人设置,步入规范化发展阶段(124)。馆舍位于当涂县姑孰镇太平府北路 261 号,建筑面积 8130 平方米,其中展览区 3200 平方米,馆藏文物 4821 件 / 套,其中珍贵文物 464 件 / 套,基本陈列为《风流国是太平州》,下设六大常设展厅及临时展厅(124)。自开馆以来,该馆在展览策划、藏品征集、公共教育、学术研究与交流等领域持续发力,已成为当涂县地域文化展示、传承及惠民服务的核心窗口。

本报告以时间为核心逻辑,将当涂县博物馆的发展历程划分为筹备建设、开馆试运行、独立规范化发展、提升创新发展四个阶段,系统梳理各阶段在馆舍建设、展览体系、藏品征集、学术研究、社会教育及运营改造等维度的重大事件,完整呈现其从无到有、从小到大的渐进发展轨迹。


一、筹备建设阶段(2014 年 —2018 年 09 月)

1.1 时代背景与规划决策

当涂县地处皖东长江下游南岸,拥有 2200 余年置县史,是六朝文化、李白文化的重要承载地,历史遗存积淀深厚。长期以来,当地缺乏一座综合性公共博物馆,本土历史文物的收藏保护、系统展示及公共文化服务功能均存在显著空白。2014 年,为完善当地公共文化服务体系,传承和展示当涂数千年地域文化,推动文化事业发展,当涂县博物馆建设工程正式启动。该项目是当涂县文化中心建筑群的核心子项目,同期规划的还包括当涂县图书馆、大剧院等配套文化设施(72)

根据马鞍山市公共文化服务体系建设的顶层规划,2014 年 —2017 年为项目核心建设期。按照《马鞍山市公共文化服务体系建设 2014—2017 年行动计划》的明确要求,当涂县博物馆需在 2015 年完成主体工程建设,2016 年完成内部展陈设计与施工配套,同期推进的还有马鞍博物馆、朱然家族墓地博物馆的展陈升级工程(75)。这一计划是马鞍山巩固国家公共文化服务体系示范区创建成果、推动城乡公共文化服务均衡发展的重点举措。

1.2 建设实施

当涂县博物馆新馆选址于当涂县姑孰镇黄池路与太平府北路交汇处,该地块位于当涂县城文体核心区域,交通便利,可与周边的太平府文化园、李白文化园等文旅节点形成联动效应(72)。项目总投资约 4000 万元,总建筑面积 7420 平方米(后期实测登记为 8130 平方米),由国内专业的博物馆设计团队担纲建筑与展陈设计,整体设计采用新中式现代建筑风格,既融合了当地六朝文化、太平府文化的传统元素,又充分兼顾了博物馆建筑对文物保护、展陈、公共服务及安防等方面的专业技术标准(19)

根据工程建设规划,馆舍内部空间严格按照现代博物馆的功能布局进行科学划分:一层为序厅、临时展厅及公共服务配套区域,二层层为常设展览区,地下一层则设置了文物库房、文物修复室及设备间等专业配套区域(31)。其中,展览区面积达 3200 平方米,含 600 平方米的独立临时展厅;文物库房面积 1000 平方米,按珍贵文物存储标准配置了专业恒湿恒温展柜、环境检测与调控系统等配套设施(124)

项目于 2014 年正式破土动工,在历经 3 年多的工程建设、内部展陈施工与配套安装调试后,2018 年 9 月,当涂县博物馆完成了包括建筑施工、展陈布置、安防消防验收、文物入驻等在内的所有开馆前置准备工作,进入最终的开馆筹备阶段(19)

1.3 开馆前瞻与基础定位

在开馆前夕的 2018 年 9 月,负责运营筹备的当涂县文旅部门透露了博物馆的核心展陈与功能设置细节:全馆设 5 个核心展览单元(后续正式调整为 6 个常设展览单元),馆藏文物以当地出土的六朝青瓷、文化遗址遗存及历史书画作品为核心,其中大部分藏品由当地公安、文旅部门在多年前执法收缴后移交,部分藏品则是从当地民间藏家手中征集而来(19)

从功能定位上,该馆并非单纯的文物展示场所,而是集文物收藏保护、历史陈列展示、Public cultural education, and cultural tourism integration into a comprehensive regional cultural hub. It was positioned as a new landmark of cultural construction in Dangtu County from the very beginning of its planning, and was also an important supporting facility for the integration of Dangtu's cultural tourism industry.


二、Opening Trial Operation Stage (October 2018 – September 2019)

2.1 Official Opening to the Public

On October 1, 2018, after completing all the pre-opening preparations such as the installation of the exhibits, the commissioning of the security and fire protection systems, and the filing of the opening plan, the Dangtu County Museum officially opened to the public free of charge. This day marked the official end of its construction period and the formal start of its public cultural service function(124).

The opening of the museum filled the long-standing gap in the county's comprehensive public museum service. At the beginning of its opening, the museum immediately became a new cultural landmark in the county. Citizens and tourists came to visit in an endless stream. It also became a must-visit spot for guests and investors to learn about Dangtu's history and culture.

2.2 Initial Exhibition System Construction

On the day of its official opening, the museum's basic exhibition "Fengliu Guo shi Taiping Zhou" (The Romantic History of Taiping Prefecture) was officially unveiled. This exhibition is the core display of the museum, with a total area of 3200 square meters. It is divided into five major thematic exhibition units: "Lingyun 回眸", "Gusu Wuhua", "Taiping Fengliu", "Jiangdong Fenghuo", and "Guxi Fangge". Later, based on the characteristics of the exhibits and the needs of the visiting logic, the "Suli Director Art Gallery" was added as a special exhibition unit, forming a pattern of six permanent exhibition units in total(124).

The entire basic exhibition takes the historical development of Dangtu as the main vein, with the regional cultural characteristics of "Wu Tou Chu Wei" (the western part of the ancient Wu region bordering the eastern part of the Chu region) as the core focus. It uses more than 420 sets of cultural relics, more than 190 historical pictures, more than 80 sculptures and paintings, as well as multimedia technologies such as interactive touch screens and induction video devices to systematically present the historical evolution of Dangtu from the Neolithic Age to the present day. The display method combines physical exhibits, graphic materials, and digital technologies to achieve the organic unity of historical knowledge dissemination and artistic appreciation, and has been well received by the audience since its opening(124).

In addition to the permanent exhibitions, the 600-square-meter temporary exhibition hall on the first floor was also put into use simultaneously with the opening of the museum. As an important supplement to the basic exhibition, the temporary exhibition hall plans to hold high-quality special exhibitions of various themes at irregularly, enriching the exhibition content and continuously meeting the diverse cultural needs of the public(124).

2.3 Initial Collection Establishment

When the museum first opened, its collection was mainly composed of cultural relics that had been collected and kept by the local cultural relics department for many years, as well as those that were transferred and handed over by relevant law enforcement departments such as the public security department. Among them, the number of precious cultural relics at the national level was relatively large. For example, the national first-class cultural relics such as the bronze incense burner with a standing phoenix and three animal-shaped feet from the Eastern Han Dynasty, the celadon hunting horse from the Three Kingdoms period, and the celadon soul bottle from the Western Jin Dynasty were all important artifacts in the museum's collection. These precious cultural relics were unearthed from ancient tombs and cultural sites in Dangtu area, and are important physical witnesses of the historical development of Dangtu.

Among them, the bronze incense burner with a standing phoenix and three animal-shaped feet from the Eastern Han Dynasty, which was collected in 1977 from a village in Xinqiao Township, Dangtu County, is the most representative. This artifact is 16 centimeters high, with a hollowed-out spherical lid, a standing phoenix about to spread its wings on the top of the lid, three cross-legged Hu monks and three lying birds along the mouth of the vessel, and three bear-shaped feet under the incense burner. It is a bronze artifact with exquisite craftsmanship and unique shape, and is also a physical manifestation of the prosperous culture and developed handicraft industry in the Dangtu area during the Han Dynasty. In 2020, this artifact was selected into the list of the "Top 100 Treasures of Anhui Province", and is also one of the most important national first-class cultural relics in the museum's collection(114).

2.4 Operational Exploration and Receiving Visitors

During the nearly one-year trial operation period, the Dangtu County Museum focused on exploring a public service model that meets the actual needs of local audiences and the characteristics of the venue. In terms of visitor management, the museum adopted a free visit system with valid identification registration. Visitors only need to register their valid identity documents at the entrance to enter the museum for free. This management method not only ensures the safety of the venue and the cultural relics, but also simplifies the visit process to the greatest extent, providing convenience for the public to visit(114).

Although the number of visitors was not officially counted during the trial operation period, according to the subsequent annual report data, the number of visitors to the museum increased rapidly after its opening, which also reflects the strong demand of the local public for public cultural facilities.


三、Independent Standardized Development Stage (October 2019 – 2023)

3.1 Institutional Establishment and Standardized Management

In October 2019, on the basis of the previous trial operation and after being inspected and approved by the cultural relics administration and the institution establishment administration, the Dangtu County Museum was officially registered as a legal entity of a public welfare institution. This means that it has become an independent public welfare cultural institution legally, marking that the museum has officially bid farewell to the previous trial operation management mode and entered a new stage of standardized and institutionalized development(124).

After the independent establishment, the museum's management system and organizational structure were further improved. It is directly under the Dangtu County Culture and Tourism Bureau (Dangtu County Cultural Relics Bureau), and is a first-class public welfare cultural venue. Its main responsibilities include the collection, conservation, research, exhibition, and public education of historical and cultural relics, as well as the development and promotion of cultural tourism resources. The museum has standardized functional departments such as the exhibition department, the collection conservation department, the public education department, the security department, and the office, which are responsible for the daily operation and management of the venue. The management system and work processes have been gradually improved, laying a solid foundation for the long-term development of the museum(124).

3.2 Collection Enhancement and Themed Exhibitions

After the independent establishment, the Dangtu County Museum began to continuously enrich its collection and launch high-quality thematic exhibitions. In terms of collection construction, the museum has expanded its collection channels in accordance with the Cultural Relics Protection Law of the People's Republic of China and the relevant regulations on the collection of public museum collections, in addition to the traditional collection methods such as archaeological excavation, the handover of public security and cultural relics departments, and the allocation of higher-level cultural relics departments. It has also extensively carried out the collection and protection of revolutionary cultural relics, the donation of folk cultural relics, and the collection of historical and cultural works related to Dangtu.

3.2.1 Revolutionary Cultural Relics Collection

In April 2021, the Dangtu County Museum officially launched a public collection campaign for revolutionary cultural relics. The collection targets are physical objects and documentary materials related to the revolutionary struggle, construction, and reform practice led by the Communist Party of China in Dangtu County since 1921. This collection campaign has received strong support and active responses from all sectors of society. As of April 12 of that year, the museum had collected 46 valuable revolutionary cultural relics from the public. Coupled with the original 89 pieces/set of revolutionary cultural relics in the collection, the number of revolutionary cultural relics in the museum's collection has reached 135 pieces/set. These cultural relics vividly record the arduous revolutionary struggle and the remarkable construction and development history of the Dangtu people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and have become important physical materials for the museum to carry out party history learning and education, and red theme education activities(93).

3.2.2 Themed Calligraphy and Painting Donation

In December 2023, the museum received a precious donation of 43 fine modern and contemporary calligraphy and painting works from Mr. Wang Xinlin, a famous painter and senior collector. These donated works are all masterpieces of modern and contemporary famous artists, with high artistic value and appreciation value. To this end, the museum specially held a solemn donation ceremony and a special exhibition of the donated works. This batch of donated works has not only further enriched the museum's calligraphy and painting collection, but also provided important physical materials for the museum to carry out the research and popularization of modern and contemporary calligraphy and painting art. It is also a concrete manifestation of the public's concern and support for the cause of public cultural undertakings(57).

3.2.3 Holding High-Quality Themed Exhibitions

In terms of exhibition planning, the museum has made full use of the 600-square-meter temporary exhibition hall on the first floor to carefully plan and launch a number of high-quality thematic exhibitions with diverse forms and rich connotations, focusing on important historical nodes and social hot topics. For example, in 2021, to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Li Bai, the museum jointly launched the "Yu Feng Ji Xi Wan Shi - Li Bai Poetry Calligraphy and Painting Special Exhibition" with the Li Bai Memorial Hall in Jiangyou, Sichuan, and other units. This exhibition is based on the life of Li Bai, displaying dozens of calligraphy and painting works created by modern and contemporary famous artists on the theme of Li Bai's poems. The exhibition combines physical exhibits, poetry, and painting art to vividly reproduce the poetic charm of Li Bai and the cultural characteristics of Dangtu as the place where Li Bai spent his old age and was buried. Since its launch, the exhibition has been widely praised by the audience.

These rich and diverse thematic exhibitions, which are organically combined with the basic exhibitions, have built a relatively complete exhibition system covering the history, culture, art, and red culture of Dangtu, meeting the diverse cultural needs of different audiences.

3.3 Academic Research and Social Education

During this stage, the Dangtu County Museum, as an important position for the study and promotion of Dangtu's local history and culture, continued to increase its investment in academic research and achieved phased results in the study of regional culture, the protection of cultural relics, and the development of exhibition content.

In terms of academic research, the museum, relying on its rich collection resources, focuses on the research of Dangtu's local history, regional culture, and the protection of cultural relics. It has carried out in-depth research on the culture of the Six Dynasties, the culture of the Taiping Prefecture, the history of Li Bai's activities in Dangtu, and the art of Dangtu's folk culture, and has published a number of relevant research results. For example, in 2019, the academic paper "Research on the Masks of Dangtu Sansheng Nuo Dance", which was jointly completed by the museum's cultural relics research staff and relevant university scholars, was published in the "Journal of Anhui University of Technology (Social Science Edition)". This paper takes the local intangible cultural heritage "Sansheng Nuo Dance" as the research object, and conducts an in-depth study on the artistic characteristics, cultural connotation, and inheritance value of its masks, providing important academic support for the museum's display and promotion of local folk culture. In addition, the museum has also carried out in-depth cooperation with universities such as Nanjing Normal University and Anhui University of Technology in the research of cultural relics protection and regional culture, realizing the organic combination of museum cultural relics resources and university academic research resources(98).

In terms of social education, the museum has given full play to the educational function of public cultural venues, and has continuously enriched the forms of public education activities and expanded the coverage of social education. Relying on its exhibition resources, it has carefully planned and organized a series of colorful public welfare education activities, such as the "Walking Museum" series of cultural popularization activities, which bring cultural relics knowledge and local history culture to the campus, communities, and enterprises, allowing the public to learn about historical culture and the knowledge of cultural relics protection without leaving their homes. For example, in June 2024, the museum, as a provincial social science popularization base, carried out the "Walking Museum - Entering Enterprises" series of activities in Guilong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., which not only popularized the knowledge of local history and cultural relics protection to enterprise employees, but also enriched their spare-time cultural life. The activity was well received by the enterprise and its employees(53).

At the same time, the museum has also actively responded to the call of the state for the integration of culture and tourism, and has continuously optimized the quality of its public services. It has launched a number of popular study tour routes combining historical culture and red culture, such as the "Red Mark" study tour route, which includes the Dangtu County Museum, the Li Bai Cultural Park, and the Hujia Martyrs Cemetery. It has also regularly invited professional docents to provide free explanations for the public, further enriching the connotation of cultural tourism services and enhancing the tourism experience of the majority of visitors(126).

3.4 Facility Upgrading and Transformation

During this stage, the museum, in accordance with the professional requirements of the state for the protection of museum collections and the needs of exhibition operation, continued to carry out the upgrading and transformation of the venue's facilities and equipment, focusing on improving the professional level of cultural relics protection and the visiting experience of the audience.

The key projects include the upgrading of the constant temperature and humidity equipment in the exhibition hall and the cultural relics warehouse, the renovation of the lighting system in the exhibition hall, the optimization of the security and fire protection system, and the installation of the environmental monitoring system for cultural relics storage. Among them, in early 2024, the museum launched the "Preventive Protection Project for the Collection of Dangtu County Museum", which mainly includes the procurement of a batch of professional constant temperature and humidity display cabinets for the temporary exhibition hall, the installation of a set of portable environmental testing equipment, and the renovation of the ventilation and cooling system in the cultural relics warehouse. The implementation of this project has significantly improved the ability of the museum to protect cultural relics, effectively ensuring that the collection is stored and displayed in a suitable environment, and providing a solid guarantee for the long-term preservation of cultural relics.


四、Improvement and Innovation Development Stage (2024 – Present)

4.1 Continuous Enrichment of Exhibitions and Collections

In recent years, the Dangtu County Museum has continued to take the enrichment of its collection and the improvement of its exhibition system as the core work of its development, and has continuously launched high-quality thematic exhibitions and enriched its collection resources.

4.1.1 Holding a Number of High-Quality Themed Exhibitions

Relying on the temporary exhibition hall, the museum has carefully planned and launched a number of influential high-quality thematic exhibitions. From December 12, 2024, to February 14, 2025, the museum jointly launched the "National Tour Exhibition of the Rubbings of the Brick Inscriptions of the Cao Family Tombs in Bozhou · Dangtu Station" with the Bozhou Museum. This exhibition displays dozens of precious rubbings of brick inscriptions from the Cao family tombs in Bozhou, which are important physical materials for studying the politics, economy, and culture of the Eastern Han Dynasty and the evolution of calligraphy art. The exhibition uses physical rubbings, graphic materials, and multimedia explanations to reproduce the calligraphy art and historical connotation of the Han Dynasty, providing the public with a window to understand the culture of the Han Dynasty and the art of brick inscriptions. Since its launch, the exhibition has attracted a large number of calligraphy enthusiasts and the public to visit, and has been well received by all sectors of society(123).

From April 30 to June 30, 2025, the museum launched the "Ling Snake Qirui - Dangtu Museum Yisi Zodiac Art and Collection of Calligraphy and Painting Works Exhibition" in the temporary exhibition hall. This exhibition takes the traditional Chinese zodiac culture as the theme, and displays 94 pieces/set of zodiac-themed artworks and calligraphy and painting works collected by the museum for the first time. The exhibition combines traditional zodiac culture and modern art, enriching the cultural life of the public during the May Day holiday.

4.1.2 Collection Donations Continue to Increase

The museum has always adhered to the collection concept of "based on the history of the region, relying on the local cultural heritage, and highlighting the characteristics of the collection", and has continuously expanded its collection channels in accordance with the Collection Management Regulations of the Museum. While ensuring the quality of the collection, it has actively enriched the number of cultural relics and the types of exhibits. The collection channels mainly include the collection of the public, the donation of folk cultural relics, the allocation of higher-level cultural relics departments, and the exchange of collections with other museums. For example, in January 2025, the museum received a batch of precious cultural relics materials donated by Mr. Jiang Yong from Hanshan County, including the documents and materials issued by the Dangtu County People's Government in 1954. These materials have important historical value for studying the construction and development history of Dangtu County in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China. After receiving the donation, the museum promptly organized professional forces to carry out the sorting, identification, and entry of this batch of materials, and properly stored them in the cultural relics warehouse. It also expressed its gratitude to the donor and issued a collection certificate. As of the end of 2024, the museum's collection has exceeded 4800 pieces/set, of which 464 pieces/set are precious cultural relics at the national level. The continuous enrichment of the collection has laid a solid foundation for the museum to carry out academic research, improve the exhibition system, and enrich the connotation of public education services(58).

4.2 In-Depth Integration of Academia and Education

In recent years, the museum has continued to deepen the integration of academic research and social education, striving to transform the results of academic research into the content of public education and exhibition services, so that the results of cultural relics research can benefit the public to the greatest extent.

4.2.1 Deepening School-Bank Cooperation and the Development of Practical Teaching Resources

In November 2024, the Art Design College of Ma'anshan University and the Dangtu County Museum jointly signed a cooperation agreement on the construction of a teaching practice base, and officially unveiled the "Ma'anshan University Art Design College Teaching Practice Base" at the museum. Relying on the advantages of both the university in terms of teachers and scientific research resources, and the museum's advantages in terms of collection resources and exhibition practice, the two sides have carried out in-depth cooperation in the creation of cultural and creative products, the optimization of exhibition design, the research on the protection of cultural relics, and the training of docents. This cooperation has not only provided the university with a practical teaching platform for students to engage in museum exhibition design and cultural relics protection, but also provided intellectual support for the museum to optimize its exhibition design and develop cultural and creative products. It is a specific practice to promote the integrated development of cultural undertakings and higher education, and has achieved good social results(125).

4.2.2 The Continuous Enrichment of Public Education Activities

The museum has always adhered to the public welfare orientation of public cultural services, and has continuously innovated the forms of public education activities and enriched the connotation of services, aiming to make cultural relics come alive and the historical stories behind them spread. Relying on the collection resources and exhibition characteristics, it has carefully planned and organized a series of thematic public welfare activities, such as the "Walking Museum" series of popular science activities, the "Museum's Wonderful Night" immersive experience activities, and the traditional festival-themed experience activities. For example, on April 2, 2026, the 19th World Autism Day, the museum, in conjunction with the Dangtu County Disabled Persons' Federation and the local children's rehabilitation center, launched a social integration activity with the theme of "Museum Enriches Children's Hearts, and Stars Have Companions". The activity invited children with autism and their families to visit the museum free of charge, and organized professional docents to provide exclusive explanations for them. It also set up interactive experience links such as the rubbing of cultural relics and the experience of traditional cultural production, allowing the children to feel the charm of history and culture in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The holding of this activity not only reflects the public welfare feelings of the museum, but also expands the social education function of the museum, and has been widely praised by all sectors of society(121).

4.3 Operational Innovation and Service Upgrading

In order to further meet the growing cultural needs of the public and enhance the visiting experience of the audience, the Dangtu County Museum has continued to innovate in its operation and management, and has launched a series of targeted service optimization measures.

4.3.1 Implementation of the Summer Evening Delay Opening Service

Starting from the summer of 2025, the museum will begin to pilot the evening delay opening service, in response to the public's strong demand for visiting the museum at night due to the hot weather in summer. Specifically, from August 15 to August 31, 2025, the museum's opening hours will be extended from the original 9:00-17:00 to 9:00-20:00 every Friday and Saturday. During the delay opening period, the museum will not only be open to the public normally, but also carefully arrange for professional docents to provide free public welfare explanations. It will also launch a series of interactive experience activities with the theme of "Museum's Wonderful Night", such as the immersive experience of the exhibition hall, the hand-by-hand experience of the rubbing of cultural relics, and the explanation of the stories behind the cultural relics. The implementation of the delay opening service has not only effectively solved the problem that the public has no place to go for cultural leisure in the summer evening, but also greatly met the diverse needs of the public for museum visits, which has been widely praised by the majority of visitors. According to the museum's subsequent statistics, the number of visitors during the evening delay opening period accounted for nearly 40% of the total number of visitors in the same period, which achieved the expected social effect(122).

4.3.2 Continuous Improvement of Digital Construction and Audience Service Quality

In terms of the optimization of public services, the museum has always taken the improvement of the audience's visiting experience as the core goal, and has continuously improved the supporting services for visits. It has further standardized the management of the team of docents, regularly organized business training for docents, and continuously improved their professional level and service awareness. On the basis of the original manual explanation service, the museum has also newly added a variety of explanation services, such as WeChat voice explanation and multimedia touch-screen explanation, to meet the diverse needs of different audiences for explanation services. At the same time, the museum has also newly built a number of supporting service facilities in the public service area, such as a cultural and creative product display area, a leisure rest area, and a mother and baby room. It has also optimized the visiting signs and guidance system inside and outside the venue, providing more convenience for the public to visit. In addition, the museum has also accelerated the pace of digital construction, using modern information technologies such as the Internet, big data, and cloud computing to continuously enrich the forms of exhibition services. It has upgraded the multimedia display equipment in the exhibition hall, and increased the number of digital interactive experience projects, so that the audience can more intuitively understand the stories behind the cultural relics and the historical connotation of the exhibits, further enhancing the audience's sense of experience and acquisition.

4.4 Facility Protection and Maintenance

In recent years, while continuously improving its service capacity, the museum has always adhered to the principle of "focusing on both exhibition operations and the protection of cultural relics", and has continued to increase the investment in the maintenance and protection of the venue's facilities and equipment, so as to provide the most solid protection for the collection with a professional and perfect supporting system.

From 2024 to 2025, the museum, in accordance with the requirements of the national technical standards for the protection of museum collections, carried out a comprehensive upgrading and transformation of the cultural relics warehouse and the professional facilities in the exhibition hall. The main contents of the transformation include: the replacement of a new generation of constant temperature and humidity equipment in the cultural relics warehouse and the permanent exhibition hall, to ensure that the temperature and humidity in the storage and display environment of cultural relics are always kept within the standard range; the addition of a set of portable environmental testing equipment, which can monitor the environmental quality of the cultural relics warehouse and the exhibition hall in real time; the upgrading of the original cultural relics display cabinets in the temporary exhibition hall, replacing them with new display cabinets with better airtightness and more professional constant temperature and humidity functions; and the comprehensive maintenance and upgrading of the security, fire protection, and digital monitoring systems in the venue. The implementation of this project has comprehensively improved the hardware level of the museum's cultural relics protection, effectively solving the problems of the substandard environment for cultural relics storage and display, and the aging of professional facilities and equipment that had existed in the museum for a long time, and providing a solid guarantee for the long-term preservation of the collection.


五、Conclusion

The development of Dangtu County Museum is a microcosm of the construction and development of public cultural undertakings in China's county-level regions in the new era. From the planning and construction in 2014 to the official opening in 2018 and the present day, the museum has gone through a key development process from scratch, from trial operation to standardized development, and from the 单纯 exhibition of cultural relics to the diversified development of "collection, exhibition, research, education, and tourism".

In terms of building construction, the museum has expanded from a single building to a cultural complex with complete supporting facilities. Its exhibition, collection, and public service areas have been continuously optimized, and its hardware facilities have reached the national standard for first-class museums. In terms of the exhibition system, it has formed an exhibition pattern of "one basic exhibition + multiple thematic exhibitions", with a continuous enrichment of exhibition themes and forms. In terms of the collection construction, the number of collections has continued to grow, and the channels for collecting cultural relics have become increasingly diverse, effectively preserving the local historical and cultural memory. In terms of academic research, the museum has continued to deepen the research on regional culture, transformed the results of academic research into exhibition content and public education resources, and realized the positive interaction between research and exhibition. In terms of public education, the museum has continuously innovated its service methods, enriched the connotation of its services, expanded the coverage of its services, and has become an important position for the popularization of history and culture and the education of patriotism in the region.

As of the end of 2025, the museum's collection had reached 4821 pieces/set, including 464 pieces/set of precious cultural relics; the total number of exhibitions held throughout the year reached 7, and the number of social education activities exceeded 50; the number of visitors throughout the year exceeded 100,000, and the number of visitors to a single exhibition during the May Day holiday exceeded 5,000, setting a new record for the number of visitors to the museum.

Looking forward to the future, Dangtu County Museum will continue to uphold the service tenet of "public welfare first, strengthening the foundation, and focusing on characteristics", and will focus on the following key directions in its future development: First, to further solidify the foundation of the museum's development, continue to promote the digital construction of the museum, improve the level of professional protection of cultural relics, and strive to build a more complete system for the collection, protection, and research of cultural relics; second, to further enrich the connotation of the exhibitions, focus on excavating the connotation of local characteristic culture such as the Six Dynasties culture and the Li Bai culture, and launch more high-quality thematic exhibitions that meet the needs of the public; third, to further deepen the integration of academic research and social education, continue to carry out in-depth cooperation with universities and scientific research institutions, and transform more academic research results into public education products; fourth, to continue to optimize the quality of public services, innovate service methods, enrich the cultural tourism connotation of the museum, and better meet the diverse cultural needs of the public; fifth, to strive to become a national second-class museum through solid work, and further enhance the influence and comprehensive service capacity of the museum.

In the continuous development of China's public cultural undertakings, Dangtu County Museum will surely play a more important role in the inheritance of local history and culture, the enrichment of the public's spiritual and cultural life, and the promotion of the high-quality development of regional cultural tourism, and will become a shining cultural business card in the Dangtu area.
